Little Dreams respects your privacy and recognises that information relating to children and families requires particular care.

This Privacy Policy explains how Mavbelick, operator of Little Dreams ("Little Dreams", "we", "our" or "us"), collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Little Dreams mobile application, associated websites and services.

1. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on which Little Dreams features you use.

It may include information that identifies you directly as well as information relating to a child whose profile you manage.

2. Account information

When you create or maintain an account, we may collect information such as:

• your name;
• email address;
• authentication information;
• account identifiers;
• subscription status;
• account preferences;
• settings; and
• information you provide when communicating with us.

We use this information to create, secure and administer your account and provide the services.

3. Information about children

Little Dreams allows an authorised adult to create and manage child profiles.

Information associated with a child profile may include:

• name or nickname;
• date of birth or age;
• profile photograph;
• sleep times;
• bedtimes;
• wake times;
• naps;
• night waking;
• sleep duration;
• sleep patterns;
• settling information;
• sleep factors;
• routines;
• medication records or notes entered by you;
• behavioural observations;
• notes entered by a parent, guardian or carer;
• historical sleep records; and
• information generated from those records.

We collect this information only where it is entered, uploaded or generated through use of the services.

4. Authority to provide a child's information

Little Dreams is intended to be operated by adults responsible for a child's care.

By entering information about a child, you confirm that you are authorised to provide and manage that information.

You should not enter information about a child if you do not have appropriate authority to do so.

5. Sleep analysis and derived information

Little Dreams may process recorded information to generate additional information or inferences.

This may include:

• expected sleep windows;
• bedtime ranges;
• wake-window estimates;
• adaptive plans;
• nap recommendations;
• sleep-pattern observations;
• overnight summaries;
• LRI scores;
• sleep-factor insights;
• settling guidance;
• reports;
• trend information;
• predictions; and
• other personalised guidance.

These outputs are derived from information available within Little Dreams and may change as new information is recorded.

6. Artificial intelligence and automated processing

Certain Little Dreams features use automated systems, algorithms, statistical techniques, machine learning or artificial intelligence to analyse sleep-related information and generate personalised guidance.

These systems may be used to:

• analyse sleep history and recent sleep patterns;
• detect trends or changes in sleep behaviour;
• generate summaries and explanations;
• provide personalised guidance;
• compare current sleep information with historical information;
• produce predictions, suggestions and sleep-related insights; and
• improve how information is presented within the app.

Where Little Dreams uses a third-party artificial intelligence provider, limited child-related information may be transmitted to that provider for the purpose of generating personalised guidance.

This information may include:

• the child's first name;
• age stage;
• sleep timing information;
• sleep-related scores and indicators;
• current sleep targets;
• recent sleep-pattern information; and
• other sleep-related information necessary to generate the relevant guidance.

Little Dreams does not include the user's account identifier, family identifier or internal child identifier in the information sent to the artificial intelligence provider as part of the AI prompt.

Artificial intelligence is used to assist in presenting and explaining guidance. It does not replace professional medical judgement and should not be relied upon as medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Where a third-party artificial intelligence provider is used, we take reasonable steps to ensure that information is handled consistently with this Privacy Policy and our legal obligations.

7. Medication information

If you choose to use medication-recording functionality, information you enter may include:

• medication name;
• administration time;
• notes;
• reminders; and
• other information you choose to record.

Medication information may constitute sensitive or health-related information.

We use this information only to provide the functionality you request and for other purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

8. Family Access

Eligible Little Dreams plans may allow you to share access to a child profile with another authorised person. The Family Access roles available to you depend on your subscription plan.

Where Family Access is used:

• the account owner controls who is invited;
• Family Access may include caregiver and support contact roles, depending on the subscription plan;
• caregivers may be given broader access to child and sleep information made available through Family Access;
• support contacts are intended to have read-only access to selected information made available by the account owner and cannot modify sleep records, child profiles, family settings or other account data;
• the account owner controls what information a support contact can view and may revoke access at any time;
• users must only invite people who are authorised to access information about the relevant child.

You should only invite people whom you trust and who are authorised to access information about the relevant child.

9. Device and technical information

When you use Little Dreams, we may automatically receive technical information such as:

• device type;
• operating system;
• app version;
• device identifiers;
• language;
• time zone;
• IP address;
• notification status; and
• security-related information.

We may use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve Little Dreams.

10. Usage information

We may collect information about how the app is used, such as:

• features accessed;
• screens viewed;
• actions taken;
• session information;
• feature performance;
• error events; and
• general usage patterns.

Where reasonably possible, analytics information may be aggregated or de-identified.

11. Notifications

If you enable notifications, Little Dreams may process device notification identifiers and information required to determine which reminders or notifications should be delivered.

Notifications may relate to:

• bedtime;
• naps;
• morning wake times;
• sleep windows;
• routines;
• medication records;
• summaries; or
• other app functionality.

You can control notification permissions through your device settings and, where available, Little Dreams settings.

12. Profile photographs

If you choose to add a profile photograph to a child profile, the image remains stored locally on your device.

Little Dreams does not upload or store the profile photograph on our servers.

The photograph is used only for display within the app on the device on which it is stored.

Because the image remains local to the device, it may not automatically appear on another device unless you separately add it there.

13. Support communications

When you contact us for support, we may collect:

• your name;
• email address;
• message;
• screenshots;
• diagnostic information;
• account details; and
• other information you choose to provide.

We use this information to investigate and respond to your request and improve our services.

14. Complaints

If you make a complaint, we may record information necessary to:

• investigate the complaint;
• communicate with you;
• resolve the issue;
• meet legal obligations; and
• improve our services.

Where necessary, information may be disclosed to a third party involved in resolving the complaint, subject to applicable law.

15. How we use personal information

We may use personal information to:

• create and administer accounts;
• authenticate users;
• provide Little Dreams functionality;
• store sleep records;
• calculate sleep windows;
• generate LRI and other indicators;
• provide adaptive plans and guidance;
• generate reports and summaries;
• provide Family Access;
• synchronise information across authorised devices;
• provide notifications;
• manage subscriptions;
• process support requests;
• detect and prevent fraud or misuse;
• maintain security;
• diagnose technical problems;
• improve reliability and performance;
• develop and improve features;
• comply with legal obligations; and
• protect our legal rights.

16. Sensitive information

Some information entered into Little Dreams may be considered sensitive information or health information under applicable privacy law.

This may include information relating to:

• sleep;
• medication;
• health-related observations; or
• other information concerning a child's physical or behavioural circumstances.

Where required by applicable privacy law, Little Dreams will obtain consent to collect sensitive information or otherwise handle that information as permitted by law.

17. We do not sell personal information

We do not sell personal information about you or your child to advertisers or data brokers.

18. Advertising

Little Dreams does not currently display third-party advertising or use personal information for targeted advertising.

Little Dreams does not use a child's sleep or health-related information to create advertising profiles.

19. Analytics

Little Dreams uses Google Analytics for Firebase to help us understand how the app is used and to improve its functionality, reliability and user experience.

Google Analytics for Firebase may collect information such as:

• app usage and interaction events;
• device type and operating system;
• app version;
• general device and technical information;
• session and engagement information; and
• approximate location information derived from technical information such as IP address, where applicable.

We may also record specific app events to understand how features are used and whether they are functioning as intended.

Analytics information is used to understand overall usage patterns, identify areas for improvement and evaluate the performance of Little Dreams.

We do not intentionally include a child's name, sleep records, medication information or other sensitive child information in analytics events.

20. Cloud infrastructure

Little Dreams uses Google Firebase services to provide its cloud-based functionality.

These services currently include:

• Firebase Authentication, for user authentication and account access;
• Cloud Firestore, for storing and synchronising account, family, child and sleep-related information; and
• Firebase Cloud Functions, for secure server-side processing, including certain artificial intelligence features.

Little Dreams may use additional Firebase services as the app develops. Where this materially changes how personal information is handled, this Privacy Policy will be updated.

Child profile photographs are not stored in Firebase or on Little Dreams servers. Profile photographs remain stored locally on the user's device.

Information processed through Firebase may be handled through Google's cloud infrastructure in accordance with Google's applicable data-processing and security arrangements.

Little Dreams takes reasonable steps to configure and use these services in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy obligations.

21. Payment information

Where paid subscriptions are offered through the Apple App Store, Google Play or another payment provider, payment information is generally processed by that provider.

We may receive limited transaction information such as:

• subscription status;
• product purchased;
• purchase identifier;
• renewal status; and
• entitlement information.

We do not ordinarily receive your complete card number from an app-store payment provider.

22. Disclosure to service providers

We may disclose information to contractors and service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Little Dreams.

These may include providers of:

• cloud infrastructure;
• authentication;
• databases;
• data storage;
• notifications;
• analytics;
• artificial intelligence;
• subscription processing;
• customer support;
• security; and
• professional services.

We require service providers to handle information appropriately and only for authorised purposes, subject to their applicable contractual and legal obligations.

23. Legal disclosure

We may disclose information where required or authorised by law, including in response to:

• court orders;
• warrants;
• lawful regulatory requests;
• law-enforcement requirements; or
• other legal obligations.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to protect the security, rights or safety of Little Dreams, our users or another person, where permitted by law.

24. Business transfers

If the Little Dreams business is sold, merged, restructured or transferred, information may form part of that transaction.

Where required, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information remains appropriately protected.

25. Overseas processing

Little Dreams uses third-party service providers whose systems may store or process information both within and outside Australia.

Little Dreams uses Google Firebase and Google Cloud for core cloud services. The Little Dreams Cloud Firestore database is hosted in Sydney, Australia (australia-southeast1).

Certain other services used by Little Dreams may process information outside Australia. This includes OpenAI, which is used to provide certain artificial intelligence features. Information sent to OpenAI for these features may be processed through infrastructure located outside Australia.

Other server-side processing may also occur outside Australia depending on the region in which a particular cloud service is deployed.

Where personal information is processed outside Australia, Little Dreams takes reasonable steps to use reputable service providers and to ensure that information is handled consistently with this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy obligations.

The locations used by third-party service providers may change from time to time as their infrastructure and services change.

26. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information from:

• loss;
• misuse;
• interference;
• unauthorised access;
• unauthorised disclosure;
• alteration; and
• destruction.

Measures may include:

• authenticated accounts;
• access controls;
• encrypted connections;
• restricted administrative access;
• cloud security controls;
• logging;
• software updates; and
• security monitoring.

No electronic system can guarantee absolute security.

27. Account security

You are responsible for protecting your account credentials.

You should:

• use a secure password or authentication method;
• protect access to your device;
• avoid sharing login credentials;
• revoke Family Access when it is no longer required; and
• contact us if you suspect unauthorised access.

28. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Little Dreams, meet our legal obligations, maintain appropriate business and security records, resolve disputes and carry out the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Information associated with an active account or child profile may be retained while the account or child profile remains active.

Certain records, including transaction, security and administrative records, may be retained for longer where required for legal, accounting, security or operational purposes.

When identifiable child sleep information is no longer required for the services, or where an account or child profile is deleted, Little Dreams may de-identify information that it wishes to retain for the research and product-improvement purposes described in section 37.

Little Dreams may retain de-identified sleep and usage data for research, statistical analysis, development and improvement of sleep algorithms, evaluation of sleep patterns, product development and improvement of Little Dreams.

De-identified information retained for these purposes will not include information that identifies, or could reasonably identify, an individual. Once information has been properly de-identified, it may be retained for these research and development purposes for an extended or indefinite period.

Backups may temporarily contain copies of information that has been deleted from active systems. Such information will be removed or overwritten in accordance with our normal backup and retention processes.

29. Account and profile deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information through functionality provided in Little Dreams or by contacting us.

When an account is deleted, we will take reasonable steps to delete personal information that we are no longer required or authorised to retain. Certain sleep and usage information may instead be de-identified and retained in accordance with sections 28 and 37.

Deletion may not immediately remove information from:

• system backups;
• security logs;
• transaction records; or
• records that must be retained by law.

Information remaining solely in backups will not ordinarily be restored for continued operational use after deletion.

30. Access to your information

You may access much of the personal information associated with your account directly through Little Dreams.

You may also request access to personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the details in this Privacy Policy.

After we verify your identity, we may provide access to the requested information, including by making a data-export function available within your account so that you can download information associated with your account and authorised child profiles.

In some circumstances, applicable law may permit or require us to refuse access. If this occurs, we will provide an explanation where required.

31. Correction

If information we hold about you is incorrect, incomplete or out of date, you may request correction.

Many account and child profile details may also be editable directly within Little Dreams.

32. Export of information

Little Dreams provides functionality allowing users to export sleep records or reports.

Information exported from Little Dreams becomes subject to the security of the location, device, email account or service to which you export it.

You are responsible for protecting exported copies.

33. Children's privacy

Little Dreams is designed to be operated by adults for the purpose of managing information relating to children.

Children are not intended to create their own Little Dreams accounts.

We do not knowingly invite children to independently submit personal information directly to us.

Information about children is instead provided and managed by an authorised adult.

34. Marketing communications

We may send operational communications necessary to provide Little Dreams.

We will only send direct marketing communications where permitted by law.

Where required, marketing communications will provide a way to unsubscribe.

Service-related messages, security notices and essential account communications may still be sent where necessary.

35. Cookies and websites

Where a Little Dreams website uses cookies or similar technologies, they may be used for essential website functionality, security, preferences, analytics and improving website performance.

The app itself may use device identifiers and similar technologies rather than traditional browser cookies.

36. De-identified and aggregated information

We may create information that has been aggregated or de-identified so that it no longer reasonably identifies an individual.

We may use such information to:

• understand sleep patterns generally;
• evaluate app performance;
• develop features;
• conduct internal research;
• improve guidance; and
• improve Little Dreams.

We will not represent information as de-identified where there is a reasonable likelihood that an individual could still be identified from it.

37. Research and product improvement

Little Dreams may use de-identified sleep and usage data for broader research, statistical analysis, product development and improvement of the services.

This may include using de-identified information to:

• analyse sleep patterns and trends;
• evaluate how Little Dreams features perform;
• improve sleep algorithms and recommendations;
• develop and test new features;
• improve prediction and guidance systems; and
• conduct internal research relating to child sleep patterns and app performance.

Before information is used for these purposes, Little Dreams will take reasonable steps to remove or alter information that identifies, or could reasonably identify, the child or account holder.

De-identified information used for research or product improvement will not include the child's name, the account holder's identity, email address, family identifier, internal child identifier or other information intended to directly identify the individual.

Little Dreams may retain properly de-identified information for research and product-development purposes for an extended or indefinite period.

Little Dreams does not authorise third-party artificial intelligence providers to use identifiable Little Dreams child information to train general-purpose artificial intelligence models, except where separately disclosed and permitted by applicable law.

38. Links to third-party services

Little Dreams may contain links to external websites or services.

We do not control the privacy practices of independent third parties.

You should review their privacy policies before providing information to them.

39. Privacy complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may have the right to make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) or another applicable privacy regulator.

40. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

The current version will be made available through Little Dreams or our website.

Where a change materially affects the way we handle personal information, we will take reasonable steps to notify users before or when that change takes effect.
